The Games Xpo (TGX) 2011 –48 elite gamers from 7 countries compete in TGX Regional Competition for the first time in Singapore!
Singapore, 29 August 2011: The Games Xpo (TGX) 2011- Asia’s most comprehensive games expo is back in Singapore for the third time by popular demand. For the first time in Singapore, elite gamers from seven countries namely, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, India and the Philippines will battle for glory for their countries in DotA Allstars and StarCraft II during TGX Regional e-Sports Competition.
The winning teams will stand to win attractive cash prizes. There are up to $12,000 worth of cash and prizes up for grabs in this competition!
Over 1,200 gamers will participate in 17 different games as TGX 2011 will house the WCG Singapore Qualifiers, IeSF Singapore Qualifiers and the TGX Arena e-Sports Competition. 8 winners from these competitions will stand a chance to win trips to Korea to represent Singapore at the World Cyber Games (WCG) and IeSF Grand Finals.
TGX 2011 competition area will be powered by 200 Alienware gaming systems from Dell. The systems have been specially engineered to provide the participants with an ultimate gaming experience – uncompromised graphics performance, latency-free wireless HD streaming and lifelike 3D gaming, etc. Additionally, visitors will get a chance to purchase and own these high performance machines after the event at special prices.
Another main highlight of the expo is the Singapore Games Industry Career Program which includes Career Zone @ TGX 2011 and Recruitment@TGX 2011. The program’s key objectives include assisting gaming companies to hire talents and graduating students in their search for jobs in the gaming industry.

Career Zone@TGX 2011 offers institutions a platform to feature their students’ best game related projects where members of the public as well as leading gaming companies have the opportunity to have a preview of what these talents have to offer. Those interested in a career in the gaming industry will also have the opportunity to drop off their resumes and stand a chance to be selected by leading gaming companies.
For Recruitment@TGX 2011, participating institutes submit names of five to ten graduating students to recruiting gaming companies such as Shanda Games. A total of 30 students will have to participate in a 10-minute interview in front of a panel of hiring managers from these gaming companies. The resumes of these students will then be collected for gaming companies to follow up with the candidates.
